DCPI training in Okinawa Podcast with Chris Centeio

Some of the participants on the last day of church planting training in Okinawa December 2016

We had a great time in Okinawa! God was moving in many ways as we did the three day training. Some were able to attend a day or so and some others were able to receive training and also answer the call to partner in sponsoring and assist with more trainings in Okinawa in 2017. Listen to me and Chris Centeio from DCPI headquarters talk about what went on in the training. Also check out the photos and live videos below. If you are interested in training in your area please contact me or leave a comment.

Pastor Kentaro came out from Tokyo.  This is him doing his last session until going back to Tokyo.  He is speaking in Japanese about the final phase of church planting.

The Kids sing Amazing Grace. God let that be the foundation of our families!

image from Ministry to Children

Last weekend my kids got to be part of worship up in front and lead everyone in the song Amazing Grace. Although the song is in English it is very well known in Japan.  It is played at weddings and on dramas of all kinds even though they aren`t Christian.  Seeing my family be a part of the ministry is very exciting.  Today I spoke on the GBC-radio on our show this morning about Christ being the cornerstone or the foundation of our lives.  At that means just more than our individual lives but our collective communities, families and marriages.  The rock is solid and we can lean into in without the fear of things falling apart.  This is what Jesus wants us to do.  He is strong and able and we can stand and have peace in the storm if he is our ROCK the foundation of the lives.  And even if things fall apart we have His amazing grace with us always.

Connecting Life with Faith: A True Worship Experience

When it comes to Christian life, we hear the word "worship" a lot.  Most of us associate worship with music or singing.  Some may associate worship with solemn prayer or celebration and dancing.  Worship encompasses the full range of human emotions.  It is expressed through our mindful actions and dedicated lifestyles.

It is more than just showing up to church on Sunday, or singing along with songs, or rocking out to the music, there is something deeper to it.

When it comes to our specific acts of worship, attitude of heart helps us to experience true Biblical worship.  Check out Pastor Mike`s 7 points on Worship

7 points of Worship

Worship is one of the defining characteristics of Christianity.  We are called to worship God, it is not an option.  It is an intricate part of the relationship. But it is not something to be done merely externally.  Jesus` words urge us to "worship in spirit and truth."  So we must examine ourselves at times to see if indeed we are living and worshiping in such a way.  There is freedom, peace, and power found in the true experience of worship.

Life on the Hill: Discontentment by Daniel Parkins

Another hard hitting post and amazing piece by my friend Daniel Parkins.  In the midst of his struggles he speaks to all of us.  This is an issue we all deal with in life, and addressing it forces us to think hard about our own life`s journey.

I hope you are challenged and enjoy reading Dan`s thoughts.

Christmas: The Real Miracle - The Life of Samuel Parkins

This Christmas many of us celebrate, for Christians it is a time when we remember the beginning of Christ`s life.  It is a time when we think of miracles, when we think of family, when we count our blessings.

For the Parkins family, this Christmas season was a journey, a struggle, a fight for life, one that will bring you to tears.  I was blessed to read and witness such a powerful Christmas story.  But I will let Dan`s blog tell the rest.
